I can’t get over how amazing this past weekend was. I had so much fun at the pasta party, marathon, and seeing you after at the Marriott.
I am so glad you ran in honor of me and I couldn’t have asked for a better partner!!! Your family is amazing with all they have done to support us in the race with all your training and hard work.
I can only begin to imagine how you must be feeling. I’m definitely run down from all these activities and some how picked up a little cold and a cough. and I didn’t have to run 26.2!!!
Today I go to the dentist for my long dreaded checkup. I have to take a huge dose of antibiotic this morning before I go to protect me from any bacteria there may be in my mouth. UGH…More meds, but it’s only 1 big dose so it’s not too bad except for my cough.
Tomorrow my friend Kevin is going to clinic with me for my appointment. It is sibling week, and since I don’t have one, Kevin will come with me. Kevin had the same cancer I have and was treated when he was 3 years old till he was 5. He still goes in twice a year to have his blood work and follow up appointments. I will have to be monitored for more than 10 years once I’m finally done.
I’m glad to hear you were able to walk yesterday!! I’m sure you were really sore!!! Someday I would like to run for Dana-Farber and have a patient partner too!! I hope you had a good time at dinner after the marathon. I can’t wait to go to Kikuyama for our celebratory dinner with our families. I think Isabella will really like it there! Just let us know day what works for you.
I can’t even begin to tell you how much fun this was for us and we are looking forward to next years race already!! It really means so much that someone who started out as a stranger put so much effort into doing something like this for me. Now I have a new LIFELONG friend. You really are amazing!!
How are you today? I bet you are a little wiped out after this busy weekend. Thank you so much for being there for me yesterday. You were at a perfect spot, Mile 25. I was pretty wiped by that point. When I stopped to see you, it re-energized me for the last mile. I was just what I needed. I glad that you were able to head over the marriott after the marathon. It was nice that we got to hang out for bit.
Today my legs were pretty sore. The only thing I dreaded more than going up stairs was going down stairs. I was going to hop a few trains heading home tonight so I wouldn’t have to walk far, but then I though the walk might do me good. So I walked my usual mile walk to South Station. I wasn’t alone. I noticed two other day-after runners have some trouble walking too. We gave each other a sympathy wave as we passed.
Good luck with all your appointments this week and I’ll see you later this week at Kiku Yama for our celebration dinner.
We all had such a great time yesterday at the DFMC Pasta Party!!! It was amazing to see so many people and to feel the excitement of all the runners! Really glad it isn’t going to be too hot today, but don’t forget your sunscreen!!
It was great to meet your parents, they are really nice!! My mom will send you an email with our address for your mom later today. Do you know which wave of runners you will be starting in? We will be there by 1:15 or so.
Thank you for all you have done, We are all so happy you were paired up with me!! Good Luck today and see you at mile 25!!!
