My name is Patrick, and I am a member of the 2011 Dana-Farber Marathon Challenge Team.

My Dana-Farber Marathon Challenge Partner, Brendan  is a very exceptional 10-year-old who was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in the end of 2009.  Brendan is thankfully in remission, but is currently undergoing two years of aggressive chemotherapy to help ensure the cancer doesn’t return.

I created this blog for Brendan and me.  My entries are conversions between two team mates.    I welcome anyone to follow along and check in often.    I’m sure along the way there will be plenty of talk about running and training, Lego’s and food (especially teriyaki chicken) , cancer and treatment,  good days and bad…and yes the weather.  But most of all, it will be about two people teaching each other about living life.

If you wish to donate, please donate on the Dana-Farber Marathon Challenge web site.

    Dear Patrick,
I wish I could be in Boston to see you run this one……last year was great watching both you and Nikki but this year is really special! Brendan is in my prayers along with other family and friends who have faced cancer. This is a beautiful partnership between the two of you…..I’m sure the end of the Marathon will not be the end of your friendship.
I will be thinking of you both on Monday….as I told you last week, I know you will finish even though you’ve had a little set-back…..I feel quite certain that you will see that finish line….even if you have to walk to get there!
    P.S. I love the T-shirt…but they spelled “runner” wrong….it’s “runnah”, isn’t it?? 😉

Leave that last part at “I love the T-shirt”…..it’s almost 2:00 a.m. and I guess I’m not seeing clearly 😉
